Brandon Roy may be back in action when the Trail Blazers begin a three-game road trip Friday at Toronto.

Roy, who said he received medical clearance last Friday to begin practicing with the Blazers, will make the trip with his teammates. Portland's next practice session is Wednesday.

"I'm trying to get myself in shape to be able to start playing again," said Roy, who underwent arthroscopic surgery on both knees on Jan. 17 and has missed Portland's last 26 games due to the knee problems.

The three-time all-star guard's target date is the Toronto game. Portland also visits Detroit Sunday and Minnesota Monday.

"I don't want to say for sure Toronto, but I hope to be playing one of these games on the trip," said Roy said. "That's as long as practice goes good, with no setbacks. I'm focused on trying to get out there and get some games in before the All-Star break so I can make a strong push the second half" of the season.
