Anthony Rizzo probably was called up too late to merit serious Rookie of the Year consideration, but he's contributing as much to the Cubs as 19-year-old phenom Bryce Harper is to the Nationals.

Rizzo's fourth inning single gave him a hit in 14 of the 16 games he has played in, and he has had five game-winning RBIs thus far.

"I haven't seen (Harper) play in person, but the guy has got a lot of confidence in himself and he goes out and plays as hard as he can," manager Dale Sveum said. "Rizzo is probably going to be a little more laid back, without the speed and that kind of flair to his game. But Rizzo is the ultimate professional. He goes about his business and does a lot of good things on and off the field."
