Jimmy Rollins is a leadoff hitter. It's where he feels comfortable, where he believes his skills are best deployed, how he defines himself as a baseball player.

But for the second straight year, Rollins has opened the season hitting third. It's a role that, theoretically, he'd enjoy.

"It's actually pretty fun, especially when guys are going to be on and I'll have an opportunity to drive in runs," Rollins said. "That's when the game gets real fun."

Thus far, those opportunities have been few and far between, and it's indicative of a larger question looming over the Phillies offense.
