Second-year power forwards Terrence Jones and Donatas Motiejunas might have been unable to lock down the starting spot, but they did sign on for another season on Wednesday.

The Rockets picked up their third-year options on the rookie contracts for both players, keeping them under contract through the 2014-15 season, a person with knowledge of the moves said.

Jones, whose third season will be worth $1.6 million, was the 18th player taken in the 2012 draft. He played in 19 games, averaging 5.5 points and 3.4 rebounds. He spent much of the season with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers before finishing the season well. He was a first-team pick at the 2013 Summer League in Orlando.

Motiejunas, whose third season will be worth $1.5 million, was the 20th pick of the 2011 draft and spent the next season in Poland. He averaged 5.7 points and 2.1 rebounds in 44 games, starting 14.
