Robert Griffin III was in New Orleans for Saturday’s big event, the NFL awards ceremony where he walked off (with barely a limp) with the Offensive Rookie of the Year award.

Griffin did not stick around for Sunday’s big event.

Although there are some reports that he did spend some time taking in the sights and sounds on Bourbon Street Saturday night, he left town prior to the Super Bowl on Sunday evening.

He said that he was going to watch the game with his family and that he will never attend a Super Bowl if he needs a ticket to get in.

''I'm a firm believer you don't go to the Super Bowl unless you're playing in it,'' Griffin said.
