The Rockies apparently want to add some pitching, and they've got their sights set on a couple of free-agent veterans.

According to Troy Renck of The Denver Post, the Rockies are "aggressively pursuing" Derek Lowe and Carl Pavano, and they'd like to finalize a deal with another veteran this week.

Lowe, who will always be held in high regard in New England, was released by the Indians last season and then picked up by the Yankees, who used the 39-year-old out of the bullpen. Lowe stated earlier this offseason that he has a desire to crack a starting rotation in 2013, so perhaps Colorado could be a fit.
