The streaking Pittsburgh Penguins could get Evgeni Malkin back soon but could lose Kris Letang again.

According to Renaud Lavoie of RDS, centre Evgeni Malkin, who was placed on injured reserve Sunday, retroactive to March 10, with an upper body injury, is expected to be back in the lineup soon.

However, defenceman Kris Letang has suffered a broken toe.

Letang was placed on injured reserve on Monday but activated in time for Tuesday's game against the Montreal Canadiens, prompting the demotion of defenceman Simon Despres.

Should Letang be placed back on injured reserve, Depres would be called back up.

Goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury, meanwhile, is battling a sore neck. Details should emerge later on Wednesday whether or not the injury will force him to miss any time.
