Portland is expected to be among the lead suitors for the services of Spurs restricted free agent Tiago Splitter, Yahoo! Sports reported late Sunday.

Yahoo’s sources cited the three-year, $25 million deal Houston gave Omer Asik last year as the likely framework baseline for Splitter, who 10.3 points and 6.4 rebounds in his first season as a regular starter.

The Spurs can match any offer he receives. The 6-foot-11 post made $3.9 million last season.

Splitter, 28, teamed with Tim Duncan to form one of the better interior defensive tandems in the league while ranking among the most efficient pick-and-roll finishers. His season was marred by an underwhelming postseason, capped by a Finals in which his playing time dwindled as Miami went to a small lineup.
