Todd Bertuzzi spent a good dozen minutes signing autographs Monday following the Red Wings' scrimmage, which is when the start of a little ponytail got noticed.

Bertuzzi said he was growing one because he and 10-year-old son Tag "have the same haircut." As he fits in at home, so Bertuzzi is focused on fitting in at work, where he finds himself in a new role. He has been a top-six forward most of the past two seasons, but he is starting training camp on the third line with Darren Helm and Justin Abdelkader.

Bertuzzi, 36, scored one of Team Lindsay's goals in the 6-3 loss to Team Howe, showing off his soft hands. Though he's a decade removed from being a prime-time power forward, he put up 18 and 16 goals for the Wings the past two seasons without seeing much power-play time. Now he's on a line with two 24-year-olds, with a focus on defense.
