Long before they moved into their snazzy downtown ballpark, or wore all the colors of the rainbow on their uniform, or changed their name from Florida to Miami, the Marlins had Josh Beckett.
And back then, it was Beckett, not LeBron or D-Wade, who ruled South Beach.
Those seemingly were better times for Beckett, though it's impossible to tell for sure. Pitching here last night for the first time since being traded to the Red Sox in 2005, he recovered from a three-run first inning to notch another solid outing.
