The Ravens made it official Monday, signing former Cincinnati Bengals running back Bernard Scott, who tried out with the team two weeks ago.

With the signing, the Ravens are back to 53 players on the active roster after trading offensive tackle Bryant McKinnie to the Miami Dolphins last week.

The Ravens needed depth at running back with backup Bernard Pierce recovering after aggravating a hamstring injury.

The Ravens tried out former Arizona Cardinals running back Beanie Wells last week, but he tore his Achilles during the audition.

Scott, 29, tore his anterior cruciate ligament last season. He played in two games and had 35 rushing yards on eight carries before the injury.
