Baltimore Ravens cornerback Asa Jackson has been suspended for the first eight games of the 2013 season after violating the NFL policy on performance-enhancing substances the league announced on Friday.

This is Jackson's second violation of the league's PED policy which is why he was suspended eight games instead of the four given to a first time offender.

Jackson was suspended for four games at the end of the 2012 regular season. The 23-year-old defensive back had to sit out Baltimore's final three regular season games and the Ravens postseason opener against Indianapolis.
