Dwane Casey was in no way defiant but he was determined and he is again talking about going back to his roots.

With about a quarter of an NBA season remaining to drill his Raptors team on what he believes in his heart works best, the team’s head coach is putting the emphasis back on stopping teams.

It’s what he is, is what he’s about, it’s what he’ll do.
“One thing about me, I’m not fancy, I’m a country boy from Kentucky and it’s going to be consistent. We’re going to do the same thing defensively,” he said as Toronto finished its last long road trip of the season here Friday night against the Lakers.

“If you’re looking for something fancy defensively, they’ve got the wrong coach. We’re going to be consistent defensively and we’re going to preach the same thing because I do know what wins in this league and it’s defence.”
