Kevin Kouzmanoff’s back feels much better, but now he’s having tingling in his legs.

And, because of that, it appears back surgery is now inevitable.

Kouzmanoff said he’s been advised by Rangers spine specialist Dr. Drew Dossett to have a herniated disk in his lower back surgically repaired. Kouzmanoff will seek a second opinion Friday in Los Angeles, but acknowledged that is basically a formality.

“It’s been a rough couple of days,” said Kouzmanoff, who left last Tuesday’s game against Oakland with what was then described as back stiffness. “Surgery is the last thing you want to try, but now it looks like the time has come.”

Kouzmanoff said that if he undergoes surgery, he’s been told he would miss another seven to 12 weeks.
