The Rams have added veteran depth to the safety position, signing former Oakland Raider Matt Giordano on Friday.
To make room for Giordano on the 90-man roster the team released safety Don Unamba, an undrafted rookie from Southern Arkansas.

Giordano, 30, has spent eight seasons in the NFL and also has had stints with Indianapolis, Green Bay and New Orleans .

He entered the league in 2005 as a fourth-round pick by the Colts out of California-Berkeley.

He spent the past two seasons with the Raiders, leading the team in interceptions (five) in 2011 and adding two in 2012.

He has appeared in 100 career games, with 32 starts. Twenty-two of those starts came over the past two seasons with Oakland.
