R.A. Dickey and J.P. Arencibia returned to the Blue Jays’ camp Saturday, a day after Team USA was knocked out of the World Baseball Classic by Puerto Rico. Both men said it was “bittersweet” to be returning to their home club after the loss.

“It was heartbreaking to lose, it really was,” Dickey said. “We wanted to represent our country a little better than we did.”

Dickey said he is pleased with how his knuckleball is taking shape. “Every two or three days I get a little bit stronger and a little bit stronger, and last game was a little bit more indicative of how I feel like I’m going to be performing on a normal basis.”

Dickey pitched five innings against the Dominican Republic on Thursday and gave up one run on five hits, while striking out four, including Jays teammate Edwin Encarnacion. “The good (knuckleball) is there, now it’s a matter of just repeating it.”
