Former Louisville safety Calvin Pryor, projected to be a first-round pick in the May draft, visited with the Steelers Monday on the South Side.

Pryor, who is 5 feet 11 and 207 pounds, the No. 2 free safety in the draft, according to nfldraftscout.com. Ha'Sean "HaHa" Clinton-Dix of Alabama is ranked No. 1.

Pryor is a mid-round pick (No. 14 overall by the Chicago Bears) in the latest mock draft by nfldraftscout. The Steelers pick at No. 15.

The Steelers signed their starting free safety in free agency. Mike Mitchell, formerly of Carolina and Oakland, is expected to take over for the departed Ryan Clark, who last week signed with the Redskins after he was not offered a contract by the Steelers.
