EVERTON are ready to match Burnley’s £25million valuation for England centre-half Michael Keane as they line up their first piece of summer business.

Toffees manager Ronald Koeman has made no secret of his admiration for the 24-year-old Clarets defender.

And the Merseyside club are understood to have put themselves in pole position ahead of local rivals Liverpool and both Manchester clubs.

Koeman shut down talk about Keane’s situation yesterday insisting he did not “talk about interest in players”.
