For however long Martin Erat and Michael Latta are members of the Capitals fans will be measuring their production against the progress of Nashville Predators forward prospect Filip Forsberg.

That progress may be easily monitored next season because Forsberg is expected to make Nashville’s NHL roster.

Taken by the Caps with the 11th pick overall of the 2012 draft Forsberg was dealt to the Predators in a trade deadline deal that yielded Erat and Latta.

On Friday Team Sweden announced that Forsberg who will turn 19 in August has been removed from its roster for the 2014 World Junior Championships because he’s expected to be on the Predators’ roster.

Team Sweden will have its orientation campAug. 3-10 in Lake Placid N.Y. and Forsberg would have been shooting for his second straight medal. He captained Sweden to a silver in last year’s WJCs which were won by the Americans.
