Over the past six seasons, Adrian Gonzalez has averaged 31 home runs, 103 RBI and a .520 slugging percentage. Thus, his lack of power through 44 games has been among the most surprising developments for the Red Sox. Gonzalez has only three homers in 198 plate appearances (175 at-bats), and although he didn't find his power stroke last season until midway through May, the slugging first baseman still was well ahead of this year's pace.
