Indiana Pacers power forward Jeff Pendergraph’s six-game stint in the rotation has concluded.

It ended when David West returned from his back injury against the Dallas Mavericks.

But the fact that Pendergraph was even in position to have earned rotation minutes is something he wasn’t sure would happen after he injured his knee during a preseason game that caused him to miss the entire 2010-11 season.

“If you would have asked me then after I got hurt, there were some moments I wasn’t sure I would play basketball anymore,” Pendergraph said before Saturday’s game against the Phoenix Suns. “I wasn’t sure I wanted to fight through the rehab and come back. I just kept working and got a good opportunity here.”

Pendergraph, known for his hustle and high energy, also helped out in the scoring department while backing up Tyler Hansbrough during West’s absence.

Pendergraph scored in double figures in half of the six games he played.
