Rookie receiver Jalen Saunders, who was involved in what the Jets called "a single-car accident" Friday morning, had what police described as a "medical incident" that is not believed to have involved a crash.

A league source said Saunders is "fine."

The Jets would only say that Saunders, 21, was on his way to the Jets’ practice facility in Florham Park on Friday morning, and that he “is being monitored as a precaution” at a hospital back in New Jersey.

But Sgt. Scott Bartel of the Florham Park Police Department told NJ.com that Saunders had a "medical incident" inside his vehicle. Asked whether Saunders was involved in an accident, Bartel replied, "I don't believe so."

Bartel provided no further details, including where the incident occurred or what time Friday morning it took place.
