The Phillies have placed left-hander John Lannan on the 15-day disabled list with a strained quadriceps tendon in his left knee.

Lannan suffered the injury during Wednesday's 11-2 loss at Cincinnati to the Reds. He allowed six earned runs on eight hits in 1 2/3 innings against the Reds after pitching well in his first two starts, when he had a 2.77 ERA.

A roster replacement is expected to be made on Friday. Speculation is that it will be Lehigh Valley left-hander Adam Morgan, who pitched on Thursday afternoon, allowing one earned run in five innings against Pawtucket.
