The Phillies on Tuesday activated outfielder Delmon Young from the 15-day disabled list.

To make room for Young on the roster, outfielder Ezequiel Carrera was designated for assignment.

Young, who had offseason surgery on his ankle, batted .367 with two doubles and two RBIs over seven rehab games with Single A Clearwater and Triple A Leigh Valley.

The 27-year-old was used primarily as a designated hitter for Detroit last season. In 151 games with the Tigers, Young hit .267 with 18 home runs and 74 RBIs.
