Penguins center Evgeni Malkin tonight won the NHL's top two trophies at the league's annual awards show at the Encore hotel.

Malkin won the Hart Trophy as MVP as voted by members of the Professional Hockey Writers Association and the Ted Lindsay Award, which goes to the most outstanding player in the NHL as voted by fellow players.

It was the third time Malkin has been a finalist for the awards, the first time he has won them.
