Ras-I Dowling survived the first round of roster cuts but he was unable to survive the second. The Patriots announced Wednesday that they have released the oft-injured cornerback.

The former second-round pick battled numerous injuries in his two seasons with the Pats. Dowling played only two games in his rookie season before being placed on injured reserve with a hip injury and he played in nine games last season before a thigh injury cut his year short.

The 25-year-old registered 10 tackles and no interceptions during his time with New England.
