Pascal Dupuis didn’t practice for the Pittsburgh Penguins this morning, which isn’t particularly good news considering he left Wednesday’s contest against the New York Rangers in the second period and did not return. The Penguins have disclosed no details on how or when Dupuis was injured, and called this morning’s skate a “maintenance day” for the forward.

As per the Shelly Anderson of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, who spoke to coach Dan Bylsma about the injury to Dupuis:

We’ll see how he continues to do [today] and toward the weekend for Saturday’s game. At this point in time, it’s not more than that.

Losing Dupuis would just be another fitting piece in the story that has been the 2013-14 season for the Pittsburgh Penguins.

James Neal took part in his first full practice with teammates since early October this morning. That good news is watered down a bit by the fact that Dupuis was forced to watch practice from the sidelines while in street clothes.
