The Flyers love Zach Parise. As loaded as they are at forward, adding the do-it-all left wing who captained New Jersey to the Stanley Cup Final this spring became a summer priority, probably their highest.

As for Ryan Suter, they figured this terrific puck-moving defenseman who was an All-Star last season in Nashville would have looked swell in orange, too.

And so, the Flyers went after not one, but both of the NHL's top two free agents when the signing period began last Sunday at noon, then like everyone else, they waited ... and waited ... and waited.
