Newcastle United will not allow Papiss Cisse to leave the club for less than £10million.

The Senegal striker has today been linked with a £9million bid from an unnamed Qatar club, and his agents are understood to be working overtime to get him a move out of St James’ Park.

Cisse, who was linked with a move to Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala in the summer, has not started a Premier League game and his penalty strike against Stoke City on Boxing Day was his first league goal since April.

Although manager Alan Pardew has acknowledged Cisse’s unhappiness in recent weeks, he will remain on the bench while Yoan Gouffran and Loic Remy lead his strikeforce.

And the Geordie club are insistent they will not sell the 29-year-old on the cheap.

Cisse joined for £9million from Freiburg in January 2011 and has scored 22 goals in 64 games since, although that includes 13 in his first six months.
