The Padres haven't discussed an extension with third baseman Chase Headley yet, according to MLB.com's Corey Brock.

Headley is still under team control for two more seasons, and isn't eligible to become a free agent until after the 2014 season. After hitting .286/.376/.498 with 31 home runs last season, the team might want to give him a long-term commitment. A baseball source told Brock those discussions haven't happened at this time.
