The Baltimore Orioles selected North Carolina high school pitcher Bryan Harvey with the No. 22 pick in the 2013 MLB Draft.

The son of former major league closer Bryan Harvey, Hunter is an 18-year-old right-hander out of Bandys High School in North Carolina. Although his fastball sits in the low- to mid-90s, ESPN's Keith Law reports his out pitch is a "75-77 mph curveball with variable shape, some with real two-plane break and depth and others that are more vertical," though he expresses some skepticism as to whether that's purposeful or not.

MLB.com's Jonathan Mayo observes that Harvey, "has more room to add strength, so there might be more in the tank," and Baseball America says, "Hunter offers lots of projection between his stuff and frame. He is 6-foot-3, 175 pounds, with room to add strength." Harvey is from a quiet corner of the country and hasn't faced top-level competition, so his bloodlines undoubtedly weigh heavily in this selection.
