Texans tight end Owen Daniels visited Radio Row at Super Bowl XLVIII today and said he was happy to see his former head coach, Gary Kubiak, get hired as Baltimore’s offensive coordinator.

Kubiak, offensive coordinator Rick Dennison and tight ends coach Brian Pariani were hired by the Ravens. Dennison will coach quarterbacks and Pariani tight ends.

“Kubes is my guy,” said Daniels, who was drafted by Kubiak in 2006. “I love him. He gave me my start. He gave me my first chance to play.

“He’s a great coach. I heard he was a great coordinator when he had that position (with Denver). Baltimore got a good one.”

Daniels, who has recovered from the fractured fibula that cost him most of last season, will play against Kubiak when the Texans host the Ravens next season.

“I know he’ll have his guys ready to play, and it’ll be a tough game,” Daniels said. “It’ll be good to see him, definitely exciting.”

During his first eight seasons with the Texans, Daniels was coached by Pariani.
