Former Chicago White Sox hitting coach Jeff Manto was the only coach to be fired after the Sox's 99-loss season, but he already has found a new home.

The Baltimore Orioles announced Tuesday that Manto has been hired as their new minor league hitting coordinator. Manto played for the Orioles in 1995, during the middle of his nine-year career in the major leagues.

Manto had been with the Sox since 2007 and was the hitting coach the last two seasons before he was relieved of his duties Sept. 28. He was replaced last week by Todd Steverson
