Last week we posted on Brian Orakpo and whether or not he was 100 percent recovered from last year’s torn pectoral muscle going into OTAs. After seeing him on Thursday and asking Mike Shanahan about him, there seems to be little doubt that he is fully recovered.

“He’s had no setback at all. He’s been going full speed over the last four weeks. He looks as good as ever,” said Shanahan. “Right now, you can tell it’s completely healed and we’ll keep our fingers crossed that there’s no setback.”

Yes, Orakpo was a full go last year as well as he recovered from a tear to the same pec that he had suffered at the end of the 2011 season. The then hurt the same arm during the preseason, came back for the regular season and was gone in Week 2. But things seem different this time.

“He was hurt last year,” said Shanahan. You could see that soreness in there.”

Orakpo participated in all of the defensive drills with the first team on Thursday and looked as good as ever.

If you are going to triage the Redskins’ injury situation, the players with the highest level of concern, the ones who might start training camp on the PUP list, are Adam Carriker and Jordan Bernstine. Shanahan said on Thursday that one player would likely miss the start of training camp and the best guess is that it is one of those two.
