Already on the eve of the league year we've seen two star receivers dealt -- Percy Harvin and Anquan Boldin -- and with the free agent market unimpressive by and large, more trades could be coming.
According to a league source, the Bucs are shopping 2010 second-round pick Arrelious Benn, a receiver and returner. And the Giants could be ripe to face a challenge to retain receiver Victor Cruz if they put the first-round tender on the restricted free agent, as owner John Mara indicated on Monday.
With free agent Mike Wallace one-dimensional and likely headed to the Dolphins in free agency and other receiver options lacking the size teams covet, Cruz could become a top target in terms of putting an offer sheet together, according to a league source. There are age concerns with Greg Jennings and Cruz is a bigger target than slot guys like Danny Amendola and Wes Welker.
Several sources believed the Patriots would make a run at Cruz, but that was prior to Cruz changing agents recently and going with Tom Condon, who the Pats generally don't do business with.
