The sequence of events could not have been stranger. The Warriors brought out two of Wilt Chamberlain's teammates on Monday evening to reminisce about his historic 100-point game, now 10 days away from its 50th anniversary celebration in Philadelphia.

Al Attles and Tom Meschery painted a picture of March 2, 1962, that seemed sadly and comically worlds apart from today.

The comedy began with reminders that no videotape of that game exists and extended to the fact that Attles and Meschery remember Chamberlain trying to take himself out of the game, only to be effectively overruled by head coach Frank McGuire, who chose that moment to obsess over his cufflinks and ignore his center.
