The improvement hasn't come with anything near the fanfare of the fall, which probably doesn't matter to Nuggets guard Ty Lawson.
But Lawson quietly is playing better basketball — especially in January, which has been his best month. He is averaging 17.3 points and 6.5 assists in January games and shooting 47.3 percent from the field.
Why the improvement?
"I'm being more aggressive and just trusting my game," Lawson said. "I was probably listening (too much) to some people about when to take shots, when to drive and stuff like that. Right now I'm just playing my game, thinking about how I was playing in high school, how I was just going off re- action instead of thinking about what other people want me to do."
