Dirk Nowitzki was ticked off about the Dallas Mavericks’ fourth loss in five games. But that didn’t keep him from getting in a not-so-subtle jab at the NBA and the referee crew for Minnesota’s 112-106 win Saturday night at AAC.

You’ve heard of no blood, no foul. This was blood, but no foul when Ricky Rubio’s inadvertent elbow clipped Nowitzki on the bridge of the nose and opened up a nasty gash that had to be sealed up before Nowitzki could return.

Afterward, he could joke about it, sort of.

“I don’t think it’s broke, since it wasn’t a foul,” he said with a big grin. “I might get another flopping call from my boy Rod Thorn on Monday.”
