Ricky Nolasco admitted to having what he termed "a gray cloud" in the middle of his season. From July 15 through Aug. 16, he took the loss in five of seven outings, including five in a row.

His skies have cleared.

Nolasco on Sunday shut out the Nationals on four hits in the Marlins' 8-0 win at Nationals Park. The series-clinching victory also marked the first time since Sept. 2-5, 2009 that the Marlins scored six or more runs in four consecutive games.

The Nationals and Nolasco might have experienced some déjà vu. Two starts ago on Aug. 28 at Marlins Park, Nolasco blanked them on five hits. He now has nine career complete games, including four shutouts.
