Combine his record-breaking play and the pile of endorsement deals, and it should be no surprise New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees landed in the top 10 on Forbes' most influential athlete list. Brees ranks sixth on the list with 21-percent influential rate and a 31-percent awareness rate.

Forbes.com's reasoning behind Brees making the list read, "Riding a long time rep as a good QB and a good guy. Brees will always be remembered as the one who led post-Katrina New Orleans to its first Super Bowl title."

Tim Tebow claimed the No. 1 spot on Forbes' list.Others on the list are LeBron James, Peyton Manning, Michael Phelps, Aaron Rodgers, Usain Bolt, Gabby Douglas, Derek Jeter and David Beckham. Nielsen conducted the poll.
