There’s bad blood between controversial hip-hop star LilWayne and the Miami Heat.
Over the weekend in Houston, LilWayne, who had been a courtside fixture at Heat home games at AmericanAirlines Arena, blasted the team and its star players.
The reason: He told the audience the Heat asked the NBA to ban him from all games — a lock-out allegedly now in effect across every NBA arena in the country.
And the artist, who spends time in Miami and is a big hoops fan, is fuming.
To express his displeasure, he dropped F-bombs over the Miami Heat and the NBA from the stage at a birthday celebration for fellow Young Money rapper “Birdman” that took place following the NBA All-Star Weekend. He even persuaded the audience to repeat the F-bomb phrases.
When asked if LilWayne had been banned from NBA games at the request of the Heat, league Senior VP Tim Frank responded in an email: "Not true."
