Because of a further technicality in the NBA’s collective bargaining agreement, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Jason Terry will become Nets a couple of days later than originally anticipated.

The trade with the Celtics, in which the Nets receive those three veterans in exchange for Kris Humphries, Gerald Wallace, Keith Bogans, MarShon Brooks, Kris Joseph, first-round picks in 2014, 2016 and 2018 and the right to swap picks in 2017, already had to wait until July 10 to become official in order to comply with various elements of the league’s CBA.
