The Brooklyn Nets have an experienced veteran roster but on Friday they chose to inject a little bit of youth and athleticism into their training camp.

The signing of Thomas comes just one day after the team released forward Gary Forbes and Thomas brings an entirely different dimension to the table. At just 20 years old Thomas is extremely raw but he has a stunning 7-foot-1 wingspan (at just 6-foot-6 in height) and he made numerous highlight reel blocks during a brief college career at Memphis. However he averaged just 11.7 points per game during his final campaign with the Tigers and his exile from Memphis seemed to be more of a necessity than a choice based on real NBA prospects.
