Memphis Grizzlies' forward Zach Randolph was fined $25,000 Friday for his criticism of the officiating in the team's loss Thursday night at Houston.

The fine was announced by Rod Thorn, the NBA's president of basketball operations, Friday.

Randolph and the Grizzlies lost a 100-92 decision to the Houston Rockets on Thursday, a game in which Houston took 40 free throws, twice as many as did the Grizzlies.

Randolph sounded off in the locker room about the discrepancy.

“It’s obvious. It was the refs tonight,” Randolph said. “It was 8 on 5. In the second half, (Harden) was getting to the free throw line every time. We’re playing hard and they (the officials) were dictating the game. It can’t be like that. We’re out here playing too. It was a horrible game by the refs tonight. Awful.”
