The Nationals will be without Jayson Werth for a while, as they've placed the veteran outfielder on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right hamstring. To replace Werth on the active roster, they've recalled outfielder Eury Perez.

Werth hasn't played since May 2, so the move will likely be made retroactively. This season, the 33-year-old Werth is batting .260/.308/.400 with four home runs in 107 plate appearances. In 2012, Werth put up an impressive OPS+ of 126 but was limited to 81 games played because of a broken forearm. Although he's signed through 2017, it's worth noting that Werth hasn't been both healthy and highly effective since 2010, his final season with the Phillies.
