With two weeks remaining in spring training, Cardinals general manager John Mozeliak largely has liked what he’s seen.

He’s high on Matt Adams and Pete Kozma. He didn’t exactly have his eyes opened by Michael Wacha and Oscar Taveras because he’d viewed them both before but he foresees a bright big-league future for both and perhaps not all that far away.

He wishes All-Star catcher Yadier Molina was on hand but with the Puerto Rican team advancing to the World Baseball Classic semifinals, Molina may be gone for nearly three weeks by the time he returns. Outfielder Carlos Beltran is in the same boat but Molina has more import in the Cardinals’ blueprint because of his handling of the pitching staff.

“He is missed,” said Mozeliak. “There’s no doubt about it.”
