Justin Morneau had an ice pack wrapped around his surgically repaired left wrist after going hitless in two at-bats and lowering his batting average to .100 in Monday's 8-4 victory over the Red Sox at JetBlue Park.
Morneau said he's been icing the wrist daily, as he tries to regain strength, along with his timing at the plate. Morneau is among the team leaders with 30 at-bats, but he has just three hits, all singles.
"I'm trying to do the right amount of swinging," he said. "I have to swing to build the strength [in the wrist], but if I swing too much, it gets a little irritated, so it's kind of hard."
