Red Sox left-hander Jon Lester may or may not have had a foreign substance on his glove during Game 1 of the World Series on Wednesday night a game in which he shutout the highest scoring team in the NL for 7 2/3 innings. The photos and videos are interesting but ultimately inconclusive.

Major League Baseball apparently feels the same way. Pat Courtney MLB's senior vice president of public relations issued the following statement on Thursday:

"We cannot draw any conclusions from this video. There were no complaints from the Cardinals and the umpires never detected anything indicating a foreign substance throughout the game."
