Wild defenseman Jared Spurgeon missed practice on Wednesday, Jan. 23, but is not expected to miss any games.
Coach Mike Yeo said Spurgeon, who took a puck in the foot during Minnesota's 3-1 home loss to the Nashville Predators on Tuesday, was given the day off to rest his foot.
"Obviously, he's sore," Yeo said.
The Wild play their first road game against the Red Wings on Friday in Detroit.
"Right now, I'm expecting Spurge to play," Yeo said.
If Spurgeon cannot play, 18-year-old rookie Mathew Dumba might get a chance to play his first NHL game.
