Kirk Cousins’ progress over the past 12 months particularly his grasp of the Redskins’ offense and the ease with which he reads defenses has Coach Mike Shanahan heaping praise on the second year quarterback.

“I like what I see” Shanahan said Saturday at the Bon Secours Washington Redskins Training Center where practice was rained out. “I like what I see in practice. It’s carried over to the games. He’s got a good feel of what we’re doing offensively. He’s got a good command of the offense.”

Shanahan’s comments came two days after Cousins completed 6 of 7 passes for 52 yards and a touchdown in the Redskins 22-21 victory over the Titans in Nashville. During his two series in the game Cousins targeted six different receivers and connected with five of them.
